pugin update notification gone?

I don't think you'd get the notification then. Just realised I was only
able to see it with that option enabled. And from looking at the code it
really seems to be the case that the message would only be shown if
auto-update was enable. It's only triggered once LMS needs to be
restarted in order to activate the change.
